Okay, so here are some things you may read about a lot on this blog. And rather than explain them every time I mention them, I’ll cover them here.

Denmark Gefjon: A sweater designed by Elsebeth Lavold and featured in Knitter’s Magazine, Winter 1998 (issue #53). This sweater is the reason I learned how to knit. By April 2001, I decided I was ready to tackle this project, only to discover that I really didn’t enjoy knitting cables. It’s now September 2006. I pulled the thing out of the closet about 2 weeks ago. I’m bound and determined to have it finished in time to wear on our family vacation to Tennessee in January 2007. I’ll keep you posted.  5/17/07: I did not finish this sweater in time for our family vacation. I doubt very much that it will be done in time for our next family vacation. I’ve come to realize that I don’t really like the yarn either. It’s Lite Lopi. Not soft. At all. Sigh. Someday I will finish it.

River Knits: The local yarn shop in Lafayette, IN, owned by my dear friend Elizabeth. I teach classes there on Tuesday evenings. It rocks! You should go there and buy lots of yarn, needles and books.

WooWoo: The official cocktail of Gaea Creations. I first had four tasted this wonderful concoction in June while on vacation at Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Since then, I have seen many variations on this recipe, and I’ve tried quite a few of them. Here is the basic recipe:

1 1/2 oz peach schnapps
1 1/2 oz vodka
3 1/2 oz cranberry juice.

Pour all ingredients into an ice-filled shaker and dance around your kitchen. Pour into a martini glass and enjoy.

Variations: replace the vodka with one of the following: citrus twist vodka, coconut rum, or mango rum. Coconut rum is my personal favorite.
